Wet weather downing trees, power lines

DAUPHIN, Pa. (WHTM) – The wet weather is causing trees and powerlines to come down across our area.

Chief Bob Rusbatch of the Dauphin-Middle Paxton Fire Company says his firefighters responded to a tree down on Sunday. While waiting for PPL and PennDOT, a second tree fell, trapping their truck.

“Just be careful while you’re driving,” Rusbatch said. “Keep alert. Keep watching ahead of you. Use your peripheral vision if you can to watch what’s coming down alongside you, and slow down.”

If you see downed power lines, be sure to stay away from them. If lines fall on your car, call 911 and don’t get out.
