A Susquehanna Township woman is charged after a small child in her care was found outside in the rain looking for help, police said.

Officers called to the 3700 block of North Third Street on Saturday found 38-year-old Sarah E. Lewis incoherent in her home. They also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the residence, township police said in a news release.

Police said the child wandered outside looking for help after being unable to wake Lewis.

The child was relocated to a safe location, police said.

Lewis is charged with endangering the welfare of children, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was released on $10,000 unsecured bail, according to court records.
