An act of kindness in a food store checkout line is sparking acts of kindness around the world.
On March 24, 9-year-old Lilly was grocery shopping with her mom at the Giant store on Union Deposit Road.
Lilly has Down syndrome and has always been fascinated with the bagging process. Isaac, a Giant cashier, noticed her interest and asked her to help him.
Lilly’s mom recorded it and, needless to say, the video has been shared thousands of times.
Lilly’s mom says people from around the world have been reaching out to her, saying this is inspiring them to do a simple act of kindness, too.
ABC27’s Christine McLarty caught up with Lilly, her mom, and Isaac at the Giant checkout line just days after the event.
