More than 10,000 kids go to Penn State Children’s Hospital each year in need of cardiac care.
This afternoon, in honor of Giant Food Stores 95th anniversary, the company donated $280,000 to the Children’s Miracle Network, to support the 3-D heart model printing program for children with congenital heart disease.
Cardiologists say that the 3-D model helps them prepare for surgery.
“Technology is constantly changing especially over the last several years since I have been here and a donation like this will keep our hospital at the forefront,” said Dr. Robert Tunks, Pediatric Cardiologist, Penn State Children’s Hospital.
The donation will also help fund research efforts.
