It’s Giving Tuesday, think of the Susquehanna Services Dogs

Giving Tuesday is an international day of activism and charitable giving during the holiday season.

A local organization is asking for you to consider giving to them to help the disabled gain more independence.

Susquehanna Services Dogs raises, trains, and places service dogs to assist children and adults with disabilities to become more independent.

To meet services dogs, hug puppies or donate stop by the bell tower in Strawberry Square Tuesday between 5:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Susquehanna Services Dogs was founded 25 years ago by volunteers. There are ways to give other than financially. The organization requires hundreds of volunteers every year, including puppy huggers, puppy sitters, raising and training the dogs and maintaining the property.

According to their website with a $100 donation, you can provide a harness for a service dog to wear in public. With a $200 donation, you can provide all of the items that are given to a partner when they complete team training with their new service dog including a leash, collar, food bowl and more. For $1,500, you can name a dog that will make all the difference in a person’s life.
