Jury convicts Lancaster woman of prostitution

A jury has convicted a Lancaster woman of prostitution after a sting last year at an East Lampeter Township hotel.

According to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office, the jury took about half an hour to return a guilty verdict against 33-year-old Shannon M. Myers.

She was sentenced to time-served to a year, which will be served under parole supervision. Myers was in prison for about a month after her arrest last year.

Prosecutors say Myers posted online classified ads and offered sexual acts for money.

An undercover police officer responded to one of her ads on backpage.com, and met Myers at the Classic Inn on Lincoln Highway East on February 23, 2018.

Police say Myers offered the officer sexual acts for $150, and discussed specific terms with the officer before accepting payment.
