1 killed, 3 injured in Turnpike crash

Lancaster

A New York man died and three people were injured in a crash that closed the westbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike for about five hours Thursday morning.

Olurabu K. Henry, 25, of Brooklyn, was in a Hyundai Sonata that overturned in a single-vehicle crash. He exited the car and struck by a tractor-trailer, state police in Bowmansville said.

The crash occurred at milepost 291.4 in Brecknock Township, in Lancaster County, around 2:20 a.m.

Two other people who were in the Hyundai fled the scene, police said.

Turnpike spokesman Carl DeFebo said three people were injured. Drivers of a Ford Mustang and a commercial vehicle had stopped to help the people in the overturned car.

Westbound drivers were directed off the turnpike at the Morgantown Exit.
