COLUMBIA, Pa. (WHTM) – A man and woman were found dead in a Lancaster County home, but authorities said the deaths do not appear suspicious and no foul play is suspected.
The bodies were discovered Monday around 12:40 p.m. after Columbia police were asked to a welfare check on a husband and wife in the 400 block of Union Street. The officers found a smoke condition in the house and the deceased on the first floor.
The couple’s names were not immediately released.
Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni said his office will perform an autopsy later this week.
Neighbors told ABC27 the elderly couple had recently been in and out of hospitals.
