Two Lancaster men are headed to trial for supplying fentanyl-laced heroin to a man who died from an overdose.

Jessie Hernandez, 59, and Wilfredo Perez-Lopez, 40, recently waived preliminary hearings.

The district attorney’s office said Perez-Lopez conspired with Hernandez March 30 in providing heroin to a 30-year-old man who died in the 500 block of Woodward Street. The Lancaster County Coroner’s office found fentanyl was involved in the death.

Around the same time, police responded to at least two other overdose calls believed to be connected to Perez-Lopez’s and Hernandez’s sales. Drug packaging found at one of those scenes matched that from the Woodward Street scene, officials said.

The other victims did not die from their overdoses.
