Ephrata police charge 2 men for thefts of several vehicles

Ephrata police have charged two men for thefts of several cars in the borough as well as the theft of two pistols from vehicles. 

According to police, 18-year-old Jeffrey Hoover and 19-year-old Micah Stormfeltz, both of Ephrata, are charged with criminal conspiracy and multiple counts of theft. 

Police say a Taurus 9mm pistol was taken from a vehicle parked on the 300 block of South State Street.

A Ford dump truck which contained a Ruger .22 caliber pistol was taken from the 300 block of East Mohler Church Road. 

A Mazda sedan was taken from the 1100 block of Steinmetz Road. 

A Chevrolet SUV was taken from the 200 block of Miller Road and a Mitsubishi SUV was taken from the 200 block of Duke Street. 

Police say all these thefts occurred January 5-27 of this year. 

All vehicles were recovered, but police say the pistols have not. 

Hoover is in Lancaster County Prison on unrelated charges. An arrest warrant has been issued for the arrest of Stormfeltz.
