Route 283 reopens after flooding in Lancaster County

MOUNT JOY, Pa (WHTM) - Route 283 has reopened after flooding closed the highway in Lancaster County for several hours during the Friday afternoon commute.

PennDOT cameras showed several vehicles stuck in high water when Route 283 was shut down in both directions around 3 p.m. between the Manheim/Mount Joy exit and Esbenshade Road.

The National Weather Service reported that over six inches of rain fell in four hours near Mount Joy.
