A carriage with a runaway horse and no driver struck parked vehicles as it rolled down streets in Lancaster County and finally stopped when it flipped on its side, police said.
Ephrata police said the horse sustained cuts to his legs but was able to walk away, but the carriage has extensive damage and was hauled away on a trailer.
The horse broke free from a post tie at the Sharp Shopper Plaza, in the 1800 Block of West Main Street, then ran into the borough Friday morning.
The carriage sideswiped a parked vehicle in the 1300 block of West Main then overturned after striking a parked SUV along Hummer Road, causing the horse to fall.
Both parked vehicles sustained moderate damage, police said.
