‘It was a miracle’ man’s family says after pickup crash pins him in home

Lancaster

Police are investigating what caused a pickup truck to crash into a home and pin a man as he sat in a living room chair.

A 71-year-old man was driving the pickup on Elizabethtown Road when it went off the road and into the house at Shumaker and Elizabethtown roads, in Rapho Township, on Wednesday afternoon.

Tim Fisher, 24, was struck by the pickup and pinned for over an hour before he was freed and flown to a hospital. His family said they believe angels were watching over Fisher because he is recovering and his most serious injuries are to his face.

“There is no doubt in our mind it was a miracle. If you look at the situation he was in, pinned into the corner of the room with a truck trapped on top of him, a lot of people don’t survive that kind of thing,” said JR Fisher, Tim’s father.

The pickup driver was trapped in his vehicle. An ambulance transported him to a hospital. Authorities said he has been cooperative with police.
