Lancaster County groups serve free Christmas meals


A free Christmas dinner was given Monday to people in Lancaster.

Catholic Worker House served the meal at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on South Prince Street.

More meals will be handed out Christmas Day at other places throughout Lancaster County.

Brownstown area churches will serve a dinner at West Earl Fire Company, at 14 School Lane Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Columbia Christmas Ladies will have a meal for people who made reservations in advance at Columbia Fire Hall, at 10th and Manor streets, beginning at 12 p.m. Doors open at 10 a.m.

Cross Roads Brethren in Christ Church, at 800 Donegal Springs Road in Mount Joy, will serve meals from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

St. Anne’s Catholic Church, at 929 North Duke Street in Lancaster, will serve dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
