MARIETTA, Pa. (WHTM) — A Lancaster County man was arrested after police say he sexually assaulted a 5-year-old child.
Richard J. Caldwell Jr., 32, of Marietta, is charged with rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of a child, and related offenses.
Susquehanna Regional police said elementary school staff members alerted authorities after the child made comments about Caldwell touching their private area.
After an investigation, police said they determined that Caldwell had sexually assaulted the child. They said he was charged after admitting to the allegations.
Caldwell was taken to Lancaster County Prison.
