Man arrested for beating, stabbing woman at motel


MANHEIM, Pa. (WHTM) – A Lancaster County man is charged with beating and stabbing a woman early Monday at a Rapho Township motel.

Ryan A. Whittaker, 30, is charged with aggravated assault, strangulation, and simple assault regarding the incident at Penns Woods Motel on Lebanon Road, the district attorney’s office said.

Manheim police were called to the motel just after midnight. The woman had a cut to her hand, a bruised eye, and blood around her nose and mouth.

She reported that Whittaker grabbed her by the throat and punched her during an argument. She was stabbed in the hand near her thumb.

Whittaker was placed in Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.
