Man charged after ‘record’ meth bust in Lancaster

Lancaster

A Lancaster man was arrested after police found a stash of over 2.5 pounds of methamphetamine, authorities said Friday.

Johnathan Torres, 31, also had about two ounces of cocaine when the Lancaster County Drug Task Force raided his apartment in the 100 block of East Ross Street, District Attorney Craig Stedman’s office said.

The district attorney’s office said the bust is the task force’s largest-ever single seizure of methamphetamine.

The detectives found two vacuum-sealed, one-pound bags of meth stuffed inside couch cushions and smaller vacuum-sealed bags and the cocaine in a laundry hamper. Three knotted bags of meth were found in a door handle of Torres’s vehicle, authorities said.

The task force also seized $835 in cash and packaging supplies.

Torres is charged with several drug-related felonies. He is at Lancaster County Prison on $525,000 bail.
