A Lancaster man will serve up to 10 years in prison for driving under the influence of drugs when he crashed and injured a woman in Ephrata Township.
Joseph Braun, 66, was sentenced last week to five to 10 years. He pleaded guilty in January to DUI and aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI regarding the October 2016 crash.
He must also pay $19,256 in restitution.
The district attorney’s office said Braun had Clonazepam, cocaine, methadone, and morphine in his system after he crashed into another car on East Mohler Church Road. A rear-seat passenger in the other car sustained fractures to her pelvis, neck, and leg. She spent four months in a hospital.
Prosecutors said Braun was charged with DUI three weeks earlier after he veered into oncoming traffic while under the influence of drugs. In that case, no one was injured.
