A Lancaster County jury has convicted a man of first-degree murder for breaking into his estranged wife’s Columbia home and fatally shooting her boyfriend.
Mario Casanova-Lanzo, 42, faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison when he is sentenced next week.
Prosecutors said Casanova-Lanzo broke a window to enter the home and shot 36-year-old Parrish Thaxton twice with a shotgun in February 2013.
Casanova-Lanzo also was convicted of felony burglary.
