KIRKWOOD, Pa. (WHTM) - Humane officers seized 33 dogs and puppies from a licensed kennel in Lancaster County.
The Pennsylvania SPCA says it executed a search warrant at the kennel in Kirkwood on Wednesday. The search came after a call from the state Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement regarding extreme temperatures in the kennel and untreated medical conditions for at least one dog.
Humane officers removed two English bulldogs, four adult goldendoodles and 24 puppies from multiple litters, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel, and a poodle-type dog.
All the animals were taken to the Pennsylvania SPCA headquarters in Philadelphia for care and medical treatment.
One dead puppy was recovered from the property.
The SPCA said its investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
