Lancaster

A Lancaster County father and son remain in critical condition after sustaining injuries and burns when a food truck exploded Sunday in East Hempfield Township.

Police identified the men as Christopher Gage, 55, and Ryan Gage, 22, both of Bowmansville.

The Old World Italian Cuisine food truck owned by Garofalo’s Calabria was at an event Saturday and parked overnight at the Comfort Inn on Champ Boulevard.

The Gages were preparing for another event Sunday when the truck’s propane gas tank exploded in the parking lot around 12:30 p.m.

Both men were flown to Crozer-Chester Medical Center near Philadelphia.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
