Police in Lancaster County are investigating a report that a suspicious man approached a group of young people and then showed a knife before driving away.

The youths reported the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Icehouse Hill Road and Mockingbird Circle in Clay Township.

Northern Lancaster County Regional police said the unknown man was driving a utility van that may have had a ladder on the top and possibly a dent on the passenger side door.

The driver was described as having a bald head and tanned skin. He may have been wearing a tie-dye bandana with smiley faces. He was also wearing a gray T-shirt, police said.

He said nothing to the youths and drove away as one of them was trying to alert a nearby adult.

Anyone with information should call Officer Alexandria Parisi at 717-733-0965.
