Robber sought for armed store holdup in Columbia

Police are asking for help to identify the man who robbed a Turkey Hill convenience store in Columbia early Monday.

The man had a handgun when he demanded cash from the store in the 300 block of Chestnut Street around 1:50 a.m.

He was described as being about 5’9″ tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a camouflage mesh face covering, a black hat, a red shirt, and a black backpack, police said.

After stealing about $50 to $60 dollars in cash, police said the robber fled on a bicycle toward the 300 block of Avenue G to the rear of the store.
