Route 30 reopens after fatal pedestrian crash

A Lancaster County woman died after she was struck by a car on Route 30 east of Lancaster.

East Lampeter Township police said 56-year-old Ireland Fay, of Ronks, was crossing the roadway at the intersection with North Ronks Road when she was struck by a Honda sedan around 10:45 a.m.

They said the driver swerved but was unable to avoid hitting Fay, who died at the scene.

All eastbound and westbound lanes were closed for over three hours between Paradise Lane and Eastbrook Road.

The highway reopened at around 2 p.m.
