A Lancaster County school district is helping students who lost everything in Hurricane Florence.
Manheim Township is collecting school supplies for children in the Carolinas.
The man heading up the donations used to live in North Carolina, and he also helped students in Texas when Hurricane Harvey struck.
“These kids, they lost everything. For us to be able to come together as a community and support them in giving them some basic necessities, of things like paper and pencils or a nice backpack, it’s going to mean the world to them,” said Richard Chavis, the organizer of Backpacks of Hope.
You can drop off the supplies at any school in the Manheim Township School District.
The last day they will take donations is October 11.
