A new surveillance picture shows two people considered suspects in a series of burglaries in Lancaster County.
Manheim Township police say the burglaries happened Saturday night into Sunday morning. One of the burglaries happened at Bellys BBQ & Burritos in East Petersburg.
“They basically snapped the handle off,” restaurant owner Tim Brandt said.
Brandt said the criminals broke the handle off of his back door. The handle was still lying on the ground Tuesday morning.
“I actually was very surprised, mainly because it’s such a well-lit area,” Brandt said. “I honestly never worried about break-ins, even from the back.”
Investigators said the criminals hit a total of nine businesses in East Petersburg and Manheim Township.
“It’s a little bit brazen to me,” Brandt said.
Police said they plan to step up patrols in the area now that the burglaries have happened.
