Woman arrested for store robberies while on bail

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A Lancaster County woman robbed two Turkey Hill convenience stores Tuesday and tried to get money from a third, police said, all while she was out on bail for a robbery in January.

Amanda L. Hanna Polk, 38, of New Providence, was arrested after the latest robberies Tuesday and returned to prison on $75,000 bail.

East Lampeter Township police said in one of the incidents, Hanna Polk was in the Turkey Hill at 1612 Lincoln Highway East when she demanded that the clerk open the register, stating “I’m robbing you.” The clerk refused to open the register and Hanna Polk fled the store.

During the investigation, detectives learned two additional robberies were reported that day, in Lancaster and East Hempfield Township. Fingerprints from one of the stores identified Hannah Polk as the suspect, police said.

Hannah Polk was out on bail while awaiting trial for a store robbery earlier this year. West Lampeter Township police said she robbed the Turkey Hill store in Willow Street on Jan. 31.
