Lebanon City Police question shooting victim’s robbery report

Police are questioning the robbery report of a shooting victim.

The 28-year-old man told police he was walking from a club on North Patridge Street around 4 a.m. Sunday when he was approached by a man with a gun who asked for his belongings. When he refused he said he got into a fight with the suspect and was shot in the leg during the struggle.

Police said they went to the area where the shooting took place and said they did not find any evidence consistent with the victim’s story. Investigators don’t believe the shooting was random.
