Lebanon teen, mom among 4 charged in shooting incident

A 16-year-old, his mother, and two others were arrested after a fight erupted in gunfire Monday evening, Lebanon police said.

Erick Baez-Rivera was fighting another juvenile in the 300 block of East Weidman Street when he and 20-year-old Gadiel Ocasio fired handguns at a group with the other juvenile, police said.

The father of the other youth returned fired with his legally owned handgun.

Two occupied homes and an unoccupied vehicle were struck by the gunfire. No one was injured.

Baez-Rivera is charged as an adult with more than 40 criminal counts, including seven counts of aggravated assault and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

His mother, 31-year-old Adela Rivera-Quinones, is charged with corruption of minors and conspiracy to commit simple assault.

Ocasio is charged with aggravated assault and related offenses, and 18-year-old Luis Rosa-Hernandez is charged with conspiracy to commit simple assault.

Baez-Rivera and Ocasio were placed in the county jail on $500,000 bail. Rivera-Quinones had bail set at $25,000, and Rosa-Hernandez had bail set at $20,000.

Police said additional charges may be filed against other people.
