Lebanon VA appoints acting medical center director

LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) — Amid the coronavirus pandemic, in addition to several of its own cases and adjustments, the Lebanon VA Medical Center has appointed a new acting medical center director.

Abc27 has learned that Margaret Wilson, MSN, RN has been appointed Acting Medical Center Director at the Lebanon VA Medical Center.

According to the U.S Department of Veteran Affairs website, Wilson was previously the Associate Director for Patient Care Services at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Wilson began her career with the VA in 2008. She retired as a Captain in the US. Navy in 2005 after serving 29 years.

Wilson is replacing Robert Callahan, who was appointed Director of the Lebanon VA Medical Center on November 11, 2007.

It is not clear at this time what prompted the announcement or if abc27’s investigation into the Lebanon VA Medical Center played a role in this sudden change.

Employees were notified of the change by email early Monday evening.

The email went on to say replacing Wilson as the Associate Director for Patient Care Services would be Judy Eisenhauer, MSN, RN.

Abc27 is still waiting on a response from the Lebanon VA Medical Center.

This is a developing story. ABC27 News will provide more information as it becomes available.
