A Myerstown man is accused of leading troopers on a chase that reached speeds of up to 88 mph in a 15 mph zone.

State police said they were following 52-year-old Michael Brown on Route 645 in Jackson Township early Friday when he accelerated and a pursuit began.

Brown ignored seven stop signs on West Jackson Avenue and adjoining streets, and he drove up to 88 mph on West McKinley Avenue, police said.

He eventually brought the 2000 GMC Jimmy to a stop and was arrested on Route 501.

Brown is charged with felony fleeing and eluding and multiple summary traffic violations.
