HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) - A local congregation has once again made sure first responders had a hot Thanksgiving meal Thursday.
The Kesher Israel congregation has been preparing dinner for Harrisburg firefighters ever since 9-11.
They say it is their way of thanking the dedicated men and women who work hard to keep the community safe.
"We're all about community and been out with the community," said Nick Buckingham, a Harrisburg firefighter. "It's very nice that they would do something like that for us. I get to spend it with my work family and I definitely appreciate that."
The congregations makes enough of the holiday favorites for the shifts working throughout the day.
