Man arrested after police chase in Chambersburg, Greene Township

A Chambersburg man is accused of driving through people’s yards and colliding with a trooper’s car during a chase through several Franklin County neighborhoods.

Joe Manny Velazquez-Garcia, 37, committed several traffic violations Thursday afternoon and refused to pull over, state police said in a news release.

He led police on a chase through residential areas of Chambersburg and Greene Township and intentionally struck the marked vehicle, police said.

He was arrested after crashing a 2007 Honda Civic on Molly Pitcher Highway. No one was hurt. 

Velazquez-Garcia is charged with aggravated assault, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, fleeing and eluding, and related offenses.

People who had property damaged during the chase should call state police in Chambersburg at 717-264-5161.
