A man charged in the death of his 12-year-old daughter during a confrontation with a constable will not have his case heard by a jury in Perry County.
The state Supreme Court granted Donald Meyer Jr., a change of venue and transferred the case to Lycoming County.
A trial date has not been scheduled.
Meyer, 60, is charged with criminal homicide and other charges related to the January 2016 death of his daughter.
Police said the constable was evicting the family from the Pfautz Apartments near Duncannon when Meyer pointed a loaded rifle at him.
The constable fired a shot that passed through Meyer’s arm and struck Ciara Meyer in the chest.
