Man charged with human trafficking waives charges


A man charged with human trafficking, and other related charges waived them all at a preliminary hearing.

According to Swatara Township Police, On September 20th, officers received information about a woman who was engaging in prostitution at the Howard Johnson’s motel on Eisenhower Boulevard. 

Detectives set up an undercover sting that resulted in the woman being located, and meeting in a motel room which resulted in her agreeing to perform varying sex acts for a certain fee. 

As officers interviewed her, she proffered that she was a victim of human trafficking, and being forced to engage in prostitution. 

The investigation let to Kyle Giering, who was charged with human trafficking, possession with intent to deliver heroin, and endangering the welfare of a child. 

On October 3rd, Giering waived all charges at his preliminary hearing. 

He remains incarcerated at the Dauphin County Prison on $150,000 bail.
