Marysville borough manager charged with theft

MARYSVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) – The borough manager of Marysville has been charged with theft.

State police in Newport said Scott Weaver from 2015 to 2018 received gift cards to Bass Pro Shops after making purchases at Nationwide Chemical Products, in Coral Springs, Florida, and used those gift cards to make purchases that directly benefited himself.

The products he purchased from the Florida company were for borough use, but those products were not requested and were ordered in excess, police said.

Weaver, 57, of Enola, was arraigned Tuesday on felony counts of conflict of interest and accepting improper influence, as well as misdemeanor counts of theft by unlawful taking and corrupt employee, agent or fiduciary.

He was released on his own recognizance, according to court records.
