Audrey Cowden really loves children and she really loves Christmas.
“And I love being a part of the community,” she said.
That’s why she has transformed Linglestown’s Free Little Library in the heart of the town into something a little more magical.
“I thought, ‘wow, that would be the perfect opportunity to turn our little lending library into a North Pole mailbox…and how perfect for the community,” she said.
After only a few days, it became clear it was already a hit. The mailbox was quickly filled with eager and hopeful letters to Santa himself.
Cowden is going to make sure Santa responds to each and every letter that arrives in the mailbox through December 22. She needs help to make that happen.
“It would be really wonderful if anybody has any stationery or old Christmas cards that never went out from years past, stamps, or even a little bit of time to help respond to the letters,” Cowden said. “That would be wonderful.”

Parents are urged to encourage their children to include their return address and, if possible, a self-addressed stamped envelope.
The North Pole mailbox is located on the 6000 block of Linglestown Road. It’s about two blocks past the square on your left if you’re headed toward Hershey.
