Official ice cream trail instated in Pennsylvania

Local

The Midstate now has its first ever ice cream trail.

The Pennsylvania Pursue Your Scoops Ice Cream Trail was brought about by a partnership between the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, the Pennsylvania Tourism Office, PA Preferred, and the Center for Dairy Excellence.

Those who want to participate can download a free passport at visitpa.com/scoops where they can check off stops and earn prizes as they go.

The farm-to-cone experience spans across 12 farm creameries in Berks, Chester, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Montgomery, and York counties.

“We are all in the business of happiness, and there are few things that put a bigger smile on one’s face more than ice cream,” DCED Deputy Secretary Carrie Lepore said. “The Pursue Your Scoops Ice Cream Trail provides the farm experiences our travelers crave while adding an extra scoop to the local economy.”

Visitors are encouraged to share photos of their travels using the #pursueyourscoops hashtag.
