PA Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team rescues Florence flood victims

New video shows members of Pennsylvania’s Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team, or HART, rescuing people from the flood waters in South Carolina.

Two elderly people were flown from their flood-ravaged home in the town of Mullins.

One of the members who helped with the rescues was Susquehanna Township Fire Marshal George Drees.

“Went inside the house, found a female, semi-conscious, very dehydrated. Long history of heart and lung issues, on oxygen. Her husband also there, had problems with total movement and dehydration issues,” said Drees.

The couple was taken to local paramedics where they could be treated.

The PA-HART Team was set to come home on the 25th, but their deployment has been extended through next Saturday, the 29th.
