Pa. program teaches banking, budgeting basics

A new program is aimed at making sure Pennsylvania students learn about financial issues before entering the real world.

The FinLit Forum is a financial literacy program for high school and college students.

State and nonprofit agencies hold forums at area schools to teach students things like the basics of banking and budgeting, how to understand credit scores, and how to avoid things like scams and identity theft.

Schools interested in offering the FinLit program to their students can contact the state Department of Banking and Securities.
