Local

Derry Township Police arrested a male patient this morning at Penn State Health, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

According to Chief Garth Warner, 33-year-old Christian Anth Bonnette was arrested after a reported assault on the 4th floor of the Medical Center around 1:11 a.m.

Police say staff reported to the responding officers that Bonnette had physically assaulted at least three staff members, and had attempted to commit rape against one of them.

Bonnette was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault, and one count of rape. He was arraigned in Dauphin County Night Court and was held on $100,000 bail.

According to Scott Gilbert, the Team Lead for Public Relations and Multimedia for Penn State Health, the staff members were all evaluated for their injuries and discharged, and personal, individualized counseling has been made available to them.

The Employee Assistance Program and Chaplain services are also working with them, and other affected staff members.

The Medical Center’s Patient Experience Team is visiting with patients and visitors in the unit to address any concerns or questions.

Gilbert says The Medical Center is dedicated to supporting the involved staff and their families in any way they may need it, and commends the multiple staff members who quickly and selflessly intervened to help their colleague.
