Chambersburg police are investigating a scam involving a group of people who claimed to be employees of West Penn Power.

Several residents told police that the group was going door-to-door on Thursday. The group asked to see the residents’ utility bills, and they said they would come back Friday to do work inside the homes.

The group was seen driving a dark blue van, described as making a loud noise. They were not wearing any identifying clothing and would not provide their names or identification.

Any borough residents contacted by the group should call Chambersburg police at 717-264-4131.
