Senate committee approves redistricting reform bill

Redistricting reform is making its way through the state capitol. A Senate Committee voted unanimously to advance a bill that would create an 11-member commission to draw districts for both congressional and state legislative seats.

The state supreme court threw out the Republican leaning congressional map earlier this year, calling it gerrymandered.

The new proposal would have commission members recommended by caucus leaders and the Governor.
