State Police: Man charged after rape of women he met on social media

NEWPORT, Pa. (WHTM)-- - State Police have charged a Mechanicsburg man for the rape a woman he met on social media. 

William Soler Jr. Is charged with rape, aggravated indecent assault, terroristic threats, and indecent assault. 

State Police said they were contacted on Sunday around 6:21 a.m. by the Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital emergency room staff about the 21-year-old victim. 

Troopers said the rape happened at a home on Rebecca Drive in Penn Township early Sunday morning.

Soler and the victim knew each other through social media but were not dating.
