Student walkouts at two downtown Harrisburg schools cancelled after threats were made

Local

Hundreds of students at Harrisburg Sci-Tech held demonstrations indoors after their walk out
was cancelled by district leaders because of a credible threat.

Students also got a chance to talk about common sense gun legislation and some other recent current events that need to be addressed not only by lawmakers but everyday people..

Just a couple of blocks away at the Capitol Area School for the Arts. students had to utilize their alternate plan after their march to the capitol steps was also cancelled because of threats.

About 70 students talked about the impact that voter registration can have on change and they also held a letter writing campaign.

Organizers at both schools say they will try and schedule another event before the school year ends.
