Cold weather is no good for car batteries.
AAA says it’s seen a surge of road service calls and a 350-percent increase in battery calls alone.
With more cold weather expected, drivers should take steps to prevent a dead battery.
“Make sure you’re shutting off the little things that pull from your battery before you turn your car off, things like your heater, headlights, your radio,” AAA Central Penn spokesperson Doni Lee Spiegel said.
“By turning off those little devices, when you restart your car in the freezing cold morning, it’s not going to pour that extra energy from the battery. The battery can solely focus on getting your car to start.”
