The Recovery Institute non-profit launched today. It’s an organization that aims to provide support for both people with addictions and the organizations helping them.
Certified peer support and recovery specialists plan on giving mentoring, training and support.
The institute was started by Harrisburg resident Henry Wimbush. He says the way he overcame his addiction and incarceration is what inspired him to give back to others.
“This is about understanding how to collaborate and how to deal with people and let them know what they do best,” said Wimbush. “Self-care has to be high on our agenda.”
The event was at the Apostolic Faith Church in Mechanicsburg.
