Search to resume for woman swept away by Conewago Creek

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) - - A 19-year-old woman is missing after police say she tried to walk across the Conewago Creek in Dauphin County.

A search is expected to resume Tuesday afternoon. It was called off Monday night.

The woman's name has not been released.

State police say just before 9 p.m. Monday, the woman and a 22-year-old woman tried to walk across the creek near the 500 block of Koser Road in Conewago Township.

The women were swept into the current because of the high water.  The 22-year-old was able to get out.

Several fire departments, an aerial rescue team, the Pennsylvania National Guard, Hazmat, and several boats and drones searched the creek for hours.
