14-year-old arrested for homicide in York


YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged as an adult for a fatal shooting in York earlier this month.

Christopher Johnson was arrested Wednesday when officers served a search warrant at a home in the 700 block of  Prospect Street.

Johnson is accused of fatally shooting 27-year-old Antonio Navarro-Garcia on the evening of May 2.

Police said they seized $4,000 worth of heroin, $1,700 in crack cocaine, $1,247 in currency, and a 9mm handgun at the home where Johnson was arrested.

He is charged with homicide, attempted homicide, criminal conspiracy to commit homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and firearms offenses.

Police have said Navarro-Garcia was targeted and shot in the area of South Belvidere Avenue and West King Street. After the shooting, a known person drove him to South Pershing and Hope Avenue where residents in the area called 911.
