2019 Capital Area Plunge

York

The cold temperatures didn’t stop abc27’s chief meteorologist Eric Finkenbinder from taking a dip at Gifford Pinchot state park yesterday. He even went underwater in style–in a suit and tie!

This was all part of the 14th annual Capital Area Polar Plunge hosted by Special Olympics Area M.

More than 300-plungers took part. For those who did not want to jump into a freezing lake, they were asked to put on a chicken hat and do the chicken dance.

The event also featured tailgating, a photo booth and costume contest, which was emceed by Eric. Organizers hoped to raise $100,000 dollars.
